Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling were able to keep their pregnancy hush hush for seven months which is impressive in Hollywood. Even after giving birth to daughter Esmeralda (love the name) the couple has kept quiet, until now! In a recent interview with Violet Grey’s The Violet Files, Eva Mendes opened up about Ryan and their baby girl!
On why her and Ryan chose their daughter’s name:
“Ryan and I both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and we just think it’s a beautiful name. Amada was my grandmother’s name. It means ‘beloved’ in Spanish,”
On why the couple kept quiet about the pregnancy:
“Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it’s unfair, but that’s our reality. Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could. And my pregnancy was the first opportunity to give her that.”
Now I can’t wait to see pictures of their daughter Esmeralda. I’m sure it’s not going to be anytime soon because their not the type of couple to have their kids pictures on a magazine cover for a quick buck. So, we’ll more than likely have to wait till a paparazzi takes a pic.
