The teasing has turned into a reality! Katy Perry has released her video for “Hey Hey Hey” after sharing snippets us with of a Marie Antoinette inspired look on her Instagram! According to Perry’s Instagram caption, she states: “after a year of peaks and valleys, I wanted to end 2017 with a fun, triumphant piece of pop candy…”Hey Hey Hey” is one of my favorite songs from “Witness” and for me, it embodies the fighting spirit I always want you to be able to find within yourself and to see in me.”
According to Billboard magazine, “The video features a dolled-up Perry, wearing a giant wig and going through the motions as an 18th-century royal. She daydreams of being her own Joan of Arc and slaying the evil men in her life while the lyrics “You think that I am cracking, but you can’t break me” echo in the background.”
What a lovely note for the Swish Swish star to end 2017 on! Despite all the obstacles faced during the year of 2017, Katy Perry promotes a message of hope and belongingness for a better and brighter future. I’m excited to see what Perry has to offer us in 2018 but for now, I’ll be ending my 2017 with a little bit of Hey Hey Hey.
