All good things must come to an end……
American Idol was by far one of the biggest and most successful talent shows of this generation. When it originally started with Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson you made sure to never miss an episode. After Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and eventually Randy left there was really no reason to watch it in my opinion. One of the reasons why I loved the show so much was because of Simon Cowell and the chemistry between him and Paula.
Even though they bought on judges like Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez it was still never able to maintain the same ratings as when the original judges were there.
According to Entertainment Weekly,
Fox is officially closing the curtain on American Idol after its upcoming 15th season, the network announced Monday.
American Idol XV will have the same judges as the last two cycles—Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr.— along with the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, who has been with the series from the beginning.
Fox noted that the final season will pay tribute to the show’s previous years.
Let’s not forget that without American Idol there wouldn’t be some of music’s biggest stars (Ex: Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks).
Will you guys miss this show, or did you already check out like I did seasons ago?
