MAC just continues to amaze me! Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Lorde, Kelly & Sharon Osbourne and now the most fabulous of them all, supermodel Brooke Shields.
Brooke Shields’ new collection with MAC is pretty much the biggest collection that any celebrity has done with the brand. Usually you’ll see celebs have their own lipstick/lip gloss color and/or eye shadows, but Brooke’s collection includes everything. A 15 piece eyeshadow palette set, brow liners, brow set. lipsticks, lipglass, bronzing powders and nail polish. Her entire collection covers everything you need for this fall season.
In a recent interview with Allure magazine, Brooke Shields talks about her new collection…..
On working with M.A.C.: “I’ve used M.A.C. for so long. So many makeup artists that do my makeup have used it. They approached me and wondered if I had any interest in collaborating on and designing a new line. They were so generous and allowed me to voice my opinions.”
On duality in the collection: “I could not decide between two different looks: One was a very fresh approach, and one was a much richer, sexier, moodier look. I said to M.A.C., ‘I had a hard time narrowing it down and couldn’t pick one or the other; you have to tell me what’s appropriate.’ I’ve always had that duality—the way I lived in the entertainment industry and went to school. I’ve always been operating in two worlds. M.A.C. said, ‘Well, why don’t we do both?’ It was amazing.”
On that 15-pan eye-shadow palette: “You never have to have anything else! It’s cohesive and runs the gamut from natural to an evening look. You don’t have to have a hundred different palettes.”
On the nonblack packaging: “M.A.C. was so open to working with the colors that I really loved for packaging, which are unconventional colors: gray and orange.”
On the brow set: “I never wanted my eyebrows to look any different, but they are unruly. So my issue is less about needing a pencil and more about keeping them from mushing down. I didn’t want the gel to be too crunchy, so it had to have a nourishing conditioner.”
Brooke’s collection will be available for purchase in stores on October 2nd. Can’t wait!
