MAC Cosmetics has always been known for teaming up with big name celebrities. They’ve worked with Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Ariana Grande and the list goes on. Fans love it and their collections are usually sold out instantly.
For months now, there has been a little rumor that MAC would be teaming up with Selena. It was confirmed by the makeup brand via Instagram earlier today. 21 years after her death they will be honoring Selena with her own line. They showed a sneak peek of the lipstick from her line (above) which was her signature red lip color.
Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister told PeopleStyle
“I wanted the colors to be about her personally, what she wore on and offstage. She has been gone for 21 years already, and for this collaboration to happen, it’s pretty much incredible. It just shows the love her fan base has even though she’s gone; that her music still lives on and her legacy has grown tremendously since she’s passed. It’s a great honor to have MAC collaborate with Selena’s name and her fans — for her fans.”
