Rap God Eminem and Beyonce have teamed up to create the lovely ballad “Walk on Water.” This is a duo I would’ve never expected to work together but nowadays, Queen Bee has her hand in a little bit of everything. Their individual music styles are drastically different but in Walk on Water, their styles mesh together perfectly creating a ballad that is catchy and tasteful.
Eminem has stated on multiple occasions that today’s rap content doesn’t stand for the things that he believes in and when creating his own music, he often reflects highly on the late Tupac Shakur for inspiration.
Walk on Water discusses the career crossroads Em is currently battling. According to Billboard magazine, Eminem states: “When you start out in your career you have a blank canvas, so you can paint anywhere you want. Then your second album comes out and you paint a little more, but by the time you get to your seventh and eighth album there’s nowhere to paint. People are always expecting something different from you.”
Despite what people think of Em, I expect nothing but greatness from the real Slim Shady on his new studio album, Revival.
